Introduction:
A vacancy exists for Technician: Electronics within the Mining Asset Management department. Reporting to the Foreman Maintenance, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the continued availability of Electronic Equipment including but not limited to: Telemetry & radio communication systems; radiation equipment; wireless network systems; laboratory equipment; general industrial electronics & instrumentation system repair; access control & CCTV; electronics of auxiliary and heavy mining equipment; process & mining equipment PLC’s; mining system (MMC) & subsystems maintenance and to support both the Electrical and Mechanical teams
Key Performance Areas:
- Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all electronic equipment, GPS systems, radio; communication, and laboratory equipment.
- Planning, designing, coordinating and supervising the implementation of projects.
- Assisting with budgeting for new equipment.
- Cross-training of colleagues on his/her area of expertise.
- Working with contractors and consultants in the electronic field; and
- Maintaining and repairing all electronic equipment on haul trucks, shovels, drills & auxiliary equipment.
Requirements and experience:
- Grade 12 with 20 points and E symbol in English with Mathematics and Science.
- National/Technical diploma in Electronics (N6, T3 or S4) with Radio Engineering or Electronics Communication as subjects.
- For N6 and T3 Qualification – Qualified Artisan plus five years practical post apprentice experience preferably in an Industrial Electronic / Instrumentation / Electrical environment.
- For S4 Qualification – Two years practical post qualification experience preferably in an Industrial Electronic / Instrumentation / Electrical environment.
- A valid Code BE driver’s licence.
