Job Description:
Old Mutual Short-Term Insurance Company requires the services of a Sales Manager (CL). The successful incumbent must be accountable for the identification and qualification of growth opportunities to maximize revenue.
Job Specification:
- Individually accountable for the identification and qualification of growth opportunities to maximize revenue;
- Compiles customer value proposition as well as business model for entry into identified markets;
- Conducts research assists in developing a suitable response and conducts viability assessments of a range of potential solutions;
- Develops business case for new initiatives which include all business imperatives such as systems and other resources distribution models marketing plans etc.;
- Ensures that the approved solution is effectively implemented and refined over the medium term after initial launch;
- Drafts service level agreements with service providers and ensure compliance thereof;
- Ensures integration of new business opportunities with existing initiatives within the business;
- Build and maintain sound business relationship with intermediaries
- Do risk analysis and quotations on complex commercial and corporate risks
- Broker portfolio management
- Conducts presentations to introduce new initiatives and ensures buy-in;
- Individually accountable for other’s time tasks and output quality for periods of up to a year;
- Balances own priorities with directing and motivating others;
- Plans and assigns work over periods of up to a year;
- Guides and directs staff to achieve operational excellence standards;
- Creates a climate for optimal performance;
- Manages performance;
- Submit adequate performance reports on weekly and monthly basis
- Selects potential staff to sustain customer / client service delivery;
- Builds relationship and networks with external stakeholders and potential alliances.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Namibian Citizenship;
- Grade 12 and/or Equivalent Qualification;
- Relevant degree in business or finance;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Short-term sales & underwriting of which at least 3 years’ management experience;
- Track record of sales management success and proven ability in establishing and growing sales teams;
- Computer literacy is essential;
- Proven ability to meet and exceed tough business targets on a consistent basis;
- Excellent communicator with a passion for customer service and relationship building;
- Ability to coach and develop subordinates;
- Ability to identify and develop business opportunities;
- Ability to operate within relevant regulatory requirements;
- Have exceptional interpersonal relationship skills;
- Willingness to work irregular hours and to travel; and
- All applicants must be in possession of a valid driver’s license and own a reliable motor vehicle.
