PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To ensure all OHS requirements are maintained, monitored and verified in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain, implement OHS administration and support employees, supervisors and managers on the implementation of SHE management and OHS documentation.
- Coordinate monthly SHE activities, review SHE checklist and assist in preparation for SHE monthly meetings.
- Minute and assist with chairing SHE monthly meeting.
- Coordinate the roll out of key OHS projects and programmes.
- Facilitate OHS induction and awareness of the programmes.
- Implement work place Health and Safety programmes and training thereof.
- Coordinate the Company’s First Aid requirements.
- Appointed as the Fire Fighter Coordinator and executing the duties thereof.
- Responsible for the auditing the SHE programmes and OHS requirements in Windhoek and depots as scheduled.
- Manage and control pests at the various sites.
- Maintain and monitor OSHAS documentation on Sharepoint.
- Ensure compliance to Company’s SHE procedures, policies and relevant legislation.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Integration of food safety requirements into SHE programme; thus ensuring compliance thereof.
- Willingness to undergo all necessary training to become a Namib Mills Trainer.
- Training duties include forklift driving, first aiders, fire marshal, SHE representative etc.
- Training requires monthly travel to various depots to ensure compliance to schedules.
- Maintenance of all above-mentioned training programmes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant Diploma (NQF 6) with 1 year relevant experience OR
- Relevant Certificate (NQF 5) with 2 years relevant experience OR
- Grade 12 (NQF 4) with Mathematics and Science and 5 years relevant experience.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Computer literate (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Driver’s license.
- Availability to work overtime, after hours, over weekends and on public holidays
- Must be willing to travel to depots.
- Quality Trainer would be an added advantage.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Namibian Citizenship.
