Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To transport and deliver ND finished products and or raw milk within Namibia and perform a one drop route.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Transport Goods and Materials
- Operate a truck tractor-trailer/tanker combination to deliver goods and materials around the country.
- Operate a horse/trailer (inter link) combination with a tara of exceeding 16,000 ton over a delivery period of approximately 3 x days.
- Daily Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection
- Report all accidents or injuries on duty immediately to Supervisor and Coordinator Fleet.
- Maintain all Driving Records
- Coordinate all Activities with Dispatchers
- Health and Safety Compliance always.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Grade 12 certificate,
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy duty transportation and long-distance driving
- Be in possession of a valid Code CE Driver’s license
- A valid PDP (public drivers permit)
- Medically fit to drive for long hours.
- Experience and knowledge within the driving of tanker and interlink transportation
PREFERRED /ADVANTAGEOUS:
- Knowledge of cold chain in FMCG environment will be an added advantage
- Defensive Driver Certificate to operate a heavy-duty vehicle (inter link) will be an added advantage.
