Introduction

JOB ROLE

To pro-actively monitor and promote better employer/employee relations and relations with the Stakeholders (Union, Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation, Services Providers, Office of the Ombudsman and Labour Commissioner) to ensure the provision of excellent IR services.

Key Performance Areas

•Oversee the employee relations programs and policies
•Manage complex, and often controversial situation between employer and employees
•Advise and provide assistance in the resolution of employee grievances and disciplinary actions through formal arbitration level
•Provide expert advice, interpretation and consultation on policies and programs related to labour relations matters
•Recommend and facilitate Industrial Relations training to general employees, supervisors and management team
•Maintain good relationships between employers and employees
•Examine and attempt to resolve industrial disputes and grievances in the workplace (Advise or provide solutions on employment related matters)
•Advise others on the proper procedures for carrying out negotiations and on the special
•regulations relating to employment and salary agreements
•Assist in negotiating collective agreements, employment issues and policies.
•Handle workplace unhappiness and resolve disagreements

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

•Diploma/Degree in Industrial Psychology, Labour/Industrial Relations/Human Resources Management

Experience
•3-5 years’ minimum experience in Human Resources Management or Labour Relations

Legal Requirements
•Driver’s License Code B
