PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The duties of the mechanic include all standard mechanical duties. Make sure that all repairs are completed in a timely manner. Inspecting work to make sure standards have been met, ordering mechanical parts, using diagnostic equipment, providing support and advice with repairs, conducting road tests, and maintaining repair equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- The applicant must have a red seal in diesel mechanic
- Basic auto electrician knowledge will be a definite advantage
- Applicant must have more than 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
- Applicant must be able to speak, read and write Afrikaans and English; German will be an advantage
- Applicant must have a valid code CE extra heavy license
- Applicant must be willing to relocate to Walvis Bay (if based elsewhere)
- Applicant must be willing to work on remote sites and be flexible to stay there for the duration of the project
- Applicant must be responsible and be able to work on his own without supervision
