Workhand/Labourer x2: School of Veterinary Medicine – UNIVERSITY OF NAMIBIA

The University of Namibia is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the vacant Workhand/Labourer position, School of Veterinary Medicine, Neudamm Campus.

Cleaning and maintaining animal facilities including bovine, equine and small animal facilities. Feeding animals as directed by supervisor, and grooming when applicable to the species. Loading and off-loading animal fodder and cleaning feed stores. Assisting lecturing, clinical and para-professional staff in animal restraint, animal moving and related activities during practicals and clinical activities. Work a 45 hour week including overtime.

A Grade 10 certificate with three (3) or more years proven work experience; in manual labour including all aspects of animal husbandry and related work, for example on a farm, veterinary facility, or animal holding facility. Basic knowledge of animal welfare. Knowledge of recognized safety precautions while handling large and/or aggressive animals.
