Job Specifications:
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, vessels / recirculators, purgers, evaporators / RMAU’s, heat exchangers, and control valves / isolation valves while using the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s guidelines
- Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems, vacuum cooling system, compressors, valves, pumps and various other mechanical devices
- Completes all required paperwork including but not limited to refrigeration management change forms, daily inspection and PM logs, emergency repair reports and ammonia leak incident details
- Diagnoses problems and/or failures in refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and replacement needs
- Responds to emergency calls regarding refrigeration on production floor
- Assists with the installation of refrigeration equipment and systems
- Interpret electrical/electronic and refrigeration system engineering drawings and prepare sketches of circuits/circuit diagram modifications
- Mechanical, technical, and operational, support to all refrigeration pneumatics, hydraulics and boilers
- Install, maintain and repair computerized electronic pneumatic and digital direct control devices related to the ammonia refrigeration system
- Must be skilled in the use of electrical measuring instruments and computers
- Submit reports as required by supervisor
- Must be able to lift the safety regulation maximum
- Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in supporting refrigerant functions
- Used to work environments that move quickly
- Must be able to pass pulmonary breathing test
- Understands steam principles and facility steam systems with the ability to troubleshoot pumps, valves, piping, and water treatment
- Checks temperatures, pressures, chemical levels, valves, gauges – adds chemicals if necessary
- Checks inventory of needed parts and submits parts requisitions as needed
- Performs preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment and obtain parts as needed
- Completes paperwork – temperature, pressure, oil levels, chemical levels
- Prepare equipment for installation following CCBCC set up procedures including Inspection/setup of electrical system, lower cabinet, upper cabinet and inner door
- Service equipment to the standard set by the company and manufacturer
- Ensure equipment is functioning accurately
- Housekeeping, , order replacement parts, is accountable for inventory security and accuracy, maintain a safe, clean and neat work areas
- Keep skills updated to procedures and technology needed to complete tasks
Job Requirements:
- Three (3) years Technical industrial Diploma after Secondary school / Upper –intermediate Diploma two years after high School associated engineer specialized in HVAC&R
- Amonia Certificate Required
- Ten (10) or more years hand-on industrial Ammonia Refrigeration experience
- Process Safety Management (PSM) knowledge
- Experience in commercial/industrial maintenance and repair
- Will be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime including call-outs
- EPA Type II or Universal
- Programming of PLC
- Must have mechanical background on compressors
