Job Specifications:

  • Assisting the Quality Shift leaders in the supervision of the production floor, routine inspections, labour and administrative functions.
  • Each area leader is responsible for certain areas in the processing area
  • Responsible for ensuring that the employees comply with HACCP and Hygiene requirements daily
  • Conducts Hygiene and Housekeeping inspections on the processing line
  • Makes sure all the quality controllers are at their areas of responsibilities and that the inspections are conducted
  • Assists in maintaining and improving HACCP and IFS standards within the factory
  • Responsible for physically placing non-conforming products on-hold and logging them in the on-hold file
  • Responsible for opening up corrective action for failures or non-conforming products and ensuring that they are followed up and closed off
  • To solve problems directly affecting the safety and quality of the products immediately
  • Assist the Shift Leaders in ensuring that all Critical Control Points, CCP 1 – Seawater treatment and CCP 2 – Metal detector are in working condition at all times during processing and are responsible for the verification of the CCP 1 – Seawater treatment
  • To assist in ensuring set quality of products produced and services rendered at SCT meet the requirements of customers at all times by ensuring food safety and quality services during production
  • Perform ad-hoc duties pertaining to the job as required by the EQA Manager and Shift Leaders

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree with Leadership skills;
  • Good mathematical, accuracy and attention to detail skills;
  • Training in IFS/HACCP or related Food Safety Management System with a competency certificate would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge on Critical Control Points, Food Defence and Food Allergens;
  • Should have basic understanding of the relevant acts and regulations, such as the Labour Act, Health and Safety Act, IFS and HACCP standards and regulations;
  • Sound experience and/or knowledge in spreadsheets, and/or word processing required with good verbal and written communication skills in and added advantage;
  • Five (5) years relevant experience in Leadership position.
