Purpose of the position:
To operate packaging machines according to set standard operating procedures and work instructions in order to comply to Health & Safety, Hygiene and Food Safety Standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Inspect machinery and equipment before start-up and report malfunctions to Engineering department.
- Perform daily CIP and COP on packaging equipment
- Set correct temperatures and pressures of machinery before production starts
- Check that the correct and adequate packaging material is available to run packaging line as per production plan
- Check availability of crates
- Perform pre-quality checks on packaging material
- Start-up packaging equipment as per standard operating procedures
- Take samples of packaged products during start-up, during production and after production to the lab for testing as required by sampling plan
- Take samples as required by sampling plan or requested by laboratory
- Perform visible checks during start-up and whilst production is running
- Accurately record all relevant information required on daily production report and ensure that it is signed off by Team Leader Packaging

Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Basic Dairy Course, Health & Safety Training
- GMP / HACCP understanding will be an advantage
