Introduction:
An exciting opportunity exists for Engineer: Reliability within the asset management division reporting to the Manager Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible to apply principles of performance evaluation and prediction to facilitate the improvement of safety, reliability, maintainability and operability of physical assets. The incumbent will be the custodian of the Reliability Engineering Processes and the continuous maintenance of these processes.
Key Performance Areas:
- Maintaining HSE Standards;
- Driving successful implementation of reliability improvement initiatives/model;
- Developing project plans for reliability initiatives, based on a recognised process;
- Developing, recommending and implementing strategies for improving equipment reliability and process reliability;
- Facilitating and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) sessions to identify failure causes, containment and countermeasures as necessary;
- Facilitating and leading tactics development sessions using FMEA/PMO/RCM methodology;
- Supporting the development and assessment of condition monitoring and hydrocarbon management related tactics and maintain tactics in the tactics schedule; and
- Supporting and leading reliability improvement projects;
- Custodian of the Defects Elimination Process, implementing a Reliability Framework to drive sustainability;
- Identifying issues/defects and improvement opportunities by analysing equipment performance process delays, costs, KPl’s, and maintenance history;
- Utilising graphs, Pareto charts, Histograms and other statistical tools to analyse and report asset performance;
- Ensure KPI’s for Con Mon/Asset Health and Hydrocarbon are implemented in the various areas by means of periodic audits.
Requirements and experience:
- Grade 12 certificate;
- A recognized Bachelor’s/ BTech BSc Mechanical/Mechatronic/Electrical Engineering Degree incumbents (NQF Level 7-8) with a minimum of five (5) years post qualification working experience as a Mechanical/ Mechatronic / Electrical Engineer in the heavy industry or mining or processing environment; OR
- A recognized National Engineering Diploma/ N6 (NQF Level 6) with a minimum of seven (7) years post qualification working experience as a Mechanical/ Mechatronic / Electrical Engineer in the heavy industry or mining or processing environment;
- Relevant Project Management certification (preferred, not required);
- Sound knowledge of the Mechanical engineering discipline with a broad understanding of other engineering fields;
- Sound working knowledge on Project Management;
- Demonstrated Supervisory Experience is desirable;
- A valid code BE driver’s licence.
