Distribution Manager – NAMIB MILLS (PTY) LTD

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

This role may require overseeing day-to-day operations within the organization’s distribution department and providing direct feedback to the Manager. Ensure compliance to organizational standards, including safety standards. Motivate employees to succeed and improve in order to bring customer service to a higher level. Explore opportunities to add value to the distribution supply chain.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensuring the safe transport of product (i.e., that perishables are shipped in a refrigerated environment.)
• Creating, implementing and managing strategies and processes.
• Overseeing forecasting and information flow.
• Measuring processes and adapting strategies.
• Training employees who receive, store, test or ship products.
• Developing and implementing warehouse safety and security programs.
• Examining vehicle fleets, warehouses and equipment.
• Championing a culture of measurement.
• Oversee warehouse operations.
• Order, testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements for machines.
• Oversee the transportation of goods from production site to consumer to client.
• Develop and implement a logistics process.
• Handle disciplinaries of employees.
• Handle incoming raw materials.
• Ensure inventory maintains optimal levels.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE :

• Grade 12 (NQF4) with 10 years’ experience in a Distribution and Logistics Management.
• Good computer skills and literacy.
• Experience with SQL for reporting will be an advantage.
• Code BE driver’s licence.
• Candidate should be experienced in a FMCG environment or similar (i.e., fast moving goods / items.)
• Proficient in English (written & spoken.)
• Namibian Citizen.
