PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The successful incumbent will be based at Corporate Office and report to the Manager: Finance.
- Processes all accounting related aspects of the Auctions division
- Ensure that all business transactions for the auction division are captured accurately and timely
- Weekly loading of Auctions
- Ensure that the regional offices capture Receipts on time
- Ensure daily reconciliations of the four bank accounts
- Ensure Accurate Debtors Management and interest runs
- Supervise daily payments to Sellers and ensure that these are captured accurately
- Calculating monthly Agents Commission and on time payments
- Ensuring accurate accounting and raising accruals where necessary on both systems
- Ensures that interest for Auctions debtors is calculated accurately and Statements are sent out on time
- Ensure accurate cost allocations to different auctions points
- Ensure that all FIA forms are captured accurately
- Generates output reports (e.g. Auctions debtors; income statements) for management
- Performs reconciliations for the relevant ledger and bank accounts
- Manage and resolves queries from customers
- Manage team of 4 staff members
- Responsible for internal and external audit for the Auctions division
- Ensures effective control of Permits including reconciliation to Meatboard
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
- Namibian citizenship
- A B.Com degree, or any other relevant degree in Accounting
- 3 years relevant experience
- Must be Computer literate – MS Office (Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or Financial Management system)
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
- Be able to work independently
- Be reliable, proactive and committed
- Must be detail oriented
- Exceptional numerical skills
- Valid driver’s license (Code 08)
